Adults

As an adult we acquire a lot of baggage throughout our lifetime, some of which we have buried and not dealt with. Occasionally, that baggage shows itself in many ways. These include but are not limited to, our behaviors, relationships, and perspectives.
When adults have a difficult time living a healthy day-to-day life, they may be exhibiting symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood changes, and even substance abuse.
As an adult, we’d like to think that we have people in our lives we trust and can turn to for help and support. However, those people may not always be the ones who can help you gain insight and process your present adult life and past struggles. Seeking therapy as an adult can be rewarding as your ability to recognize why you behave the way you do or behave within relationships (intimate, family, work-related, friends, etc.) begin to come to light and allow you to make changes toward a healthier tomorrow.

Treatment for adults include those struggling with:
  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Family conflicts
  • Loss of identity
  • Stress management
  • Adjustment to college environment
  • Adjustment to graduating college
  • Finding meaningful friendships and relationships
  • Poor coping mechanisms
  • Ambivalence about career choices
  • Difficulty making decisions for oneself
  • Unhealthy thinking patterns
